SKC, which was selected as a 'benevolent (voluntary win-win cooperation) company' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, will support the commercialization of small and medium-sized enterprises with promising technologies. SKC has increased the number of selected companies for the third edition of its new material technology competition 'Startup Plus' from 10 last year to 16 this year. The number of participating organizations in the 'New Material Technology-based Open Platform' that supports the selected companies has also been expanded to 15. Startup Plus, which is in its third year, is a program that selects companies with promising materials-oriented technologies and helps them commercialize them.

On May 26, SKC delivered a total of 160 million won in commercialization support to the selected companies at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by representatives from 16 selected companies, SKC President Lee Wan-jae, and Ulsan Creative Economy Innovation Center Director Kwon Young-hae. SKC formed an 'Open Platform' with the Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and Ulsan Technopark in 2017, and has been supporting the selected companies through a competition since 2018. Last year, the competition was expanded to include local communities and SMEs.
